The Good and the bad

Life isn't always peachy keen in the Peterson household! The past 10-12 days all three of us have been down with a nasty cold.
Jeremiah started sneezing and getting crabby first and I just knew he was getting sick. I was right, but I had no idea what we were in for. The next day, Matt came down with it and was super, super sick. And then I got it. Matt was even sick for valentines day, which really wasn't that bad because we didn't have plans anyway. 
This cold has left all of us with runny noses (seriously, how can so much snot come from 3 people!!), horrible coughs, and just feeling yuck! I had been coughing so much that I would get daily migraines and my ribs were so sore! 
Jeremiah was so irritable though, it was really tough. If he wasn't sleeping, he was whining. Usually watching Chris Tomlin worship videos on the tv will calm him down but even that didn't help. He wasn't eating or drinking either. He was just one miserable toddler. He finally started feeling better thursday and by friday he had his appetite back and was downing cups of milk and water. 
He spent the weekend with my mom. I was supposed to be rest, but decided to clean the entire house and sanitize ALL of his toys instead. I start watching Ardayne and Greysen soon and I do not want them to catch it if the virus was lingering on toys! 

I also realized yesterday, that two years ago we found out Jeremiah would be joining us! So crazy how fast time goes!

So I really suck at updating this thing! As the post says, Jeremiah is here! But let me back track a bit! Our pregnancy was really a breeze! We always said that we knew God gave us the pregnancy because of how easy things went. I never had morning sickness, my blood and urine numbers were always great, I only gained 6 pounds, and never had any of the things that they test you for. Last time I updated, we didn't even know that Jeremiah was a boy. I had a gut feeling that he was a boy, but Matt was holding out for a girl. On June 26th, we got to have the gender scan. My favorite thing about pregnancy was getting to have ultrasounds! The tech took her time taking measurements and showing us all the parts...4 chamber heart, hands, feet, head, tummy, etc, etc. Then when I thought she was down by his legs, I said "so, is that a boy?" She asked if we really wanted to know and I immediately said "YES!" So she found the parts, turned the screen and asked what it was

Meeting--Matt's point of view lol

So, yeah the meeting was very informational but, honestly...kind of pointless at the same time. They gave us this big old packet of info and then pretty much just read every thing to us and did a power point presentation. So other than meeting two staff members it was pointless because we could have just read it ourselves at home, but whatever. Any ways the next step is doing the formal application which sounds like fun (haha not)! We have to fill out all kinds of forms, compile a bunch of records, get medical exams, get back ground checks, all kinds of crazy stuff, not to mention that there is a $550 fee we have to pay just for this step! The good news is they work with a bank out Michigan that gives loans to cover all the fees which will eventually end up being atleast $15,000 by the time we actually get a baby. The other good news is we'll get almost all of that back in tax credits once the adoption is finalized. So we're excited, but also suffering from major information ov

And God said "Wait"

So heres the newest update. It doesn't take much to figure out that we hit our first stand still...our first waiting period...the first " please hold" moment....our first..whatever you want to call it. As most of you know, we met with Heather for the first time on December 18th and things seemed good. We had set up to do our individual meetings on January 22nd and thought we'd be procedding to do our homestudy and start our family profile, etc. We had even begun buying some small things for the baby and brought home baby things that my mom had for us. Well things don't always go as planned. I got an email from Heather on January 6th, saying she had gotten a chance to look through our file and had some concerns but didn't say what.
