A letter to Jeremiah, from mom!

My dearest Jeremiah,
I really can not believe you have been here for a half a year already! Before we know it, we will be planning your 1st birthday!
The past 6 months have been the most challenging, yet joyful months in my entire life. I have watched you go from a tiny baby that didn't do much, to an infant that giggles, smiles and shrieks with happiness! You are such a happy baby and I love that about you. You are always offering up your adorable smile to whomever will look at you...friends, family, cashiers, people passing by, the dog, cats...it doesn't matter!
Right now your favorites are petting Belly and laughing at the cats as their whiskers tickle your face! Your laugh just gets me in the heart! The other day we had a giggle fest and you were laughing so hard you had tears in your eyes! Mommy was crying with joy! You also love it when you see Daddy in the morning, when he comes home for lunch and when he comes home for the night. You give him the biggest smiles and get so excited to see him!
At your six month appointment, you weighed in at 20 pounds and measured 28 inches! What happened to my little 8 pound baby? You hated getting examined by the doctor. You cried the whole way through. There was a medical student in with Dr.Jay and when you screamed, the student told mommy "well, his lungs sure do work!" You didn't like your shots either. You flinched when the needles poked you and then screamed. When daddy picked you up, you had huge tears running down your face. It was so sad.
You most definitely love food! The only thing you don't like is peas. We even let you have a sip of lemonade and you wanted more! We didn't want you to get a tummy ache so we said sorry baby. You also love to sip water from big cups, and you do a great job doing so!
Our nights have been a little big rough but we figured out that you were done being swaddled and wanted to sleep on your tummy! Now, mommy just gives you your pacifier, your taggie, pats your back and you are usually out within 5 minutes or so. Such a change from having to swaddle and rock you to sleep! Part of me misses rocking you to sleep for every nap, but you are growing into a strong, independent boy!
We can't wait to see what the next 6 months will bring for you!
I love you with all of my heart,
Mom!
