2022 At A Glance

 January

Haley and I enjoyed several free open gym times at the Y. She mastered a swivel bike and loved jumping in the bounce houses!

Haley turned 3! We swam at the Y, and had a Peppa Pig cake. The cake was decorated beautifully but the cake itself wasn't very tasty. We ordered it from a home baker,...won't order from her again!

Elliana keeps us laughing with her silly questions and sayings!

Jeremiah is silly as usual! Still loves to play with toy cars. 

Haley started speech at the kids' school once a week for a half hour. I got to volunteer in the kids' classrooms during that time!

February

Dealt with some sickness in the house that weren't fun.

Jeremiah learned that if you stick a straw between your arm and side and blow it makes a loud fart noise...thanks YouTube!

Haley learned to zip up her own sweatshirts and coat!

We went to visit Great Grandma and Uncle Gary...always a loud, fun time!

Elliana was diagnosed with Selective Mutism which explained so much! 

Church had a night out at the new sun prairie childrens museum. Jeremiah's coat was taken by somebody else and we had to rush to find a new winter coat. I was pretty disappointed in our church members as it was only open to church people and you had to register to go. Coat never turned up. 

March

Jeremiah received a Lincoln Leader award at school!

Elliana lost teeth!

We got a big snow storm a couple weeks after it was warm enough to play outside in t-shirts...ugh!

April

Elliana turned 7 but was sick so we couldn't do much! She wanted a rainbow cake so I made one! For her party, we got a unicorn cake from Piggly Wiggly!

Jeremiah's class got a few crawfish to take care of! Jeremiah would work with his teacher twice a week after school and she'd often let him do some of the care routines for them! 

Easter! 

Haley fell and bit almost all the way through her bottom lip. It was pretty gnarly and the healing process was gross!

Mrs.Kuenzi's class hatched chicks and ducklings and had them in a kiddie pool in her room. She'd let Haley and I come see them on our way to speech!

Jeremiah's cd player broke. We let him take it apart to see the insides. He thoroughly enjoyed that!

May

Weather finally got nice! My mom, Haley and I spent many mornings at the dog park with Gibbs and Oliver.

Ellie and I had a rough morning before school one day. We were both crying at drop off. I messaged her teacher asking how she was. She sent me a picture of Ellie in front of the white board and Ellie and wrote I love you mom on it!

Jeremiah's grade went on a field trip to Cave of the Mounds. It was super fun! Two days later, Ellie's grade went to the zoo...it was fun but so exhausting! I was beat after 2 field trips in one week!

Jeremiah's grade did a school store. They had to bring in 18 items to sell. Jeremiah wanted to paint pet rocks. Matt and Jeremiah went to a landscaping company outside of town to see if they could buy some rocks. The company let him have them for free! I sent them pictures of the painted rocks and they wrote back how awesome they were and how good of a job he did! They asked to display any leftovers, but Jeremiah sold all of his pet rocks!

Matt's dad took a turn for the worst and wanted to see the kids while he was still able to. We took the kids out of school two days early and spent a few days on the ranch. Dad's face lit up when he saw the kids. He was able to watch them from inside for short periods of time and chuckled and smiled. 

After our short time on the ranch, we took our vacation to South Dakota. It was cold but we made the best of it. We saw Mt.Rushmore, Custer State Park, Crazy Horse Memorial, a dinosaur park, a dinosaur museum and mirror maze, Bear Country USA, The Badlands, Wall Drug, a geology museum, and toured an old Gold Mine.

June

Haley started out the month sick and ended up in urgent care. 

Stayed close to home with lots of outside time.

Ellie was finally able to fulfull her birthday wish and fly in an airplane with dad! She was scared but still did it! She now wants to fly in a big airplane!

Our cherry tree produced a crazy amount of cherries this year! We couldn't even get to them all! We have a gallon bag frozen because we weren't going to be able to use them all in time!

July

Our church hosted an afternoon at Prairie Athletic Center's water park! It was super fun! Jeremiah discovered his love of waterslides!

Beaver Dam held Lake Days. We went down for an afternoon. They had a bungee trampoline thing. Jeremiah had fun! Ellie was brave and tried it even though strangers had to strap her in and help her. SHe did it though! 

Had a big rain storm! I let Jeremiah run out to the side walk and back in the rain...he had fun! 

We got our blow up pool and had lots of fun in it! 

August

August first in the early morning hours, Dad finally got to go home to Jesus. We were all really sad but so grateful he was no longer in pain. 

Dad's funeral was August 8th. A couple days ahead of time, we headed out there. We spent a night in Kearney. I thought our hotel had a pool but it did not. We found an awesome park that had 2 splash pads. They had fun but it beat them up! Jeremiah scraped his foot, Ellie got stung, and Haley fell off a spinning seat and busted up her face. 

Coming home was full on PTO planning time. I took over as president. Lots of self doubt and second guessing! 

Back to school...Jeremiah in 4th and Ellie in 2nd!

September

Matt quit shopko..hallelujah and started working at Horicon Bank in Horicon as the branch manager.

Kids had their school Fun Run! I was so proud of both kids! 

October

Jeremiah had his first sleepover! His friend Fred came to spend the night!

We went Apple picking at Ski-Hi fruit farm in Baraboo! It was a lot of fun!

Jeremiah turned 10! We went to NerdHaven and spent most of the afternoon playing games and having fun!

Trick or Treating-Jeremiah was a zombie (the fake blood made me throw up); Ellie was a vampire and Haley was Liberty from Paw Patrol!

November

Alyssa and I ran the school food drive! We went in every afternoon and 1 morning for a week to gather and tally up food items! Mrs.Sether's class won!

Ellie and I went to the high school musical Beauty and the Beast!

December

All things christmas! We got to finally go see the tree at the capitol! 

I ran the school holiday store. Started planning in october. weather through all my hard, planned plans to the wayside. It all worked out in the end though!

The entire family got influenza A before christmas.

Before new years eve the entire family got a stomach flu.
