8 years!

It's so hard to believe that Matt and I have now been married for 8 years, been engaged for 9 years and been dating for 10 years! Wow!!
We have had our ups, downs and all arounds!
We started out living 475 miles apart. We met online as teenagers on a christian chat room, never knowing God was shaping our future right then and there! We kept in contact even when that chat room disappeared, when we both dated different people, and while I went through a horrible relationship that resulted in a broken engagement.  Shortly after breaking off the engagement, Matt and I started talking more and more. And well, on June 17th 2004, he asked me to be his girlfriend and drove to madison in july to meet me face to face for the first time. We spent the first 11 months of our relationship traveling back and forth...mostly me flying one weekend a month since my job was a little more flexible. In May of 2005, Matt got in with shopko in madison and was able to move here. May 16th, 2005 he asked me to be his wife and of course I said yes!
Our wedding day was June 17th 2006. It was a hot, beautiful sunny day! The wedding was perfect! We spend our honeymoon in Snowmass Village, Colorado surrounded by the most beautiful mountains!
We lived in Madison for a year. We moved because our neighborhood was becoming way too seedy. The pushing point was when our apartment building, which was a 4-plex, became the scene of a drug/rape crime at 3am. I had to be escorted to my car at 5am by a police officer. We were done!
We moved to Sun Prairie to a 2 bedroom apartment. That was an adventure and a half. The outdoor pool was nice in the summer! However, the walls were very thin and you could hear everything. We had a shared balcony and a creepy neighbor who knew I was home alone most of the day since I worked early mornings. Then that winter, ice dams formed in the gutters, resulting the ceiling of our spare bedroom to cave in. We also accumulated a 4th cat when I heard kids in the hallway, went to check it out and found them beating up a kitten. Welcome to the family Lucky. That summer, a huge rainfall happened and the drains in the parking lot couldn't keep up with the rain. Goodbye both of our cars. Hello two new-to-us cars in one week. It was in this apartment that we decided to start trying for a family.
After putting up with creepy neighbors and all that, we moved to a different apartment complex in Sun Prairie.
I was so busy with work and school that I never had time to go apartment hunting with Matt. I had to put my complete trust in him and photos. Hello loft apartment. We stayed there for a year. To date, it was my favorite place to decorate for christmas. That place was probably the calmest apartment we had lived in...minus the occasional ummm bedtime noises from a next door neighbor, and a huge fight in the hall way that had us ready to call the police. We moved when we realized that if a baby joined us, there would be no room for the baby. So we moved to a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment down the street with the same landlords. It was my favorite all around apartment. The fire place kicked ass!! I still miss that thing! It was in this apartment building that we decided to try for adoption, and getting it ready for a baby. After finding out that housing in beaver dam was much cheaper, we bought our first house in 2010.
We moved from Sun Prairie to Beaver Dam in the fall of 2010 after looking at 14 houses in person and dozens more online. We also welcomed new family members Bella and Sassy. The first 2 years in this house were spent updating it. And then we got the surprise of our life, baby Jeremiah!

Life hasn't slowed down since! It has been a crazy adventure but I would do it all over again! God picked the perfect person for me to do life with. He puts up with me when I'm cranky, when I'm sad, when I'm tired, when I'm feeling goofy. He leads our family so well and always hears my voice before making decisions. Watching him go from just a husband to the father of our child has blessed my heart so much. His care and concern for me while we were loosing Eden will never be far from my heart. He held me up when all I wanted to do was crumble. He kept going when he wanted to crumble. He let me sleep and heal and take care of Jeremiah even if all he wanted was to sleep. Watching him laugh with Jeremiah always brings a smile to my face! Jeremiah loves his daddy so much, and I love my husband more than words can say! Here's to 8 years and many more to come!!

A week before our 8 year wedding anniversary!
