Elliana's pregnancy

I can't believe it's been almost a year since I last updated this thing...it's pretty crazy with two kids!! So last February we found out we were having a little girl! We were so super excited! Ever since I was a teen, I had always said that if I had it my way, I'd have a boy first and then a girl. God granted my wish! Elliana's pregnancy was pretty rough on me! I was exhausted, had all day nausea until 14 weeks along, we had a heart scare, and placenta previa which corrected itself! Then they were also worried that her legs were measuring too short. I kept saying that I wasn't worried because I have short legs, and so does Jeremiah. But we had to have a couple extra ultrasounds to measure her growth and she was just fine! Then I had horrible pubic symphysis disorder. I had it with Jeremiah, but it started almost right away with Elliana. To make matters worse, when I was 6 months along, I was walking into my doctors appointment. My doctors office is in the h...

A bit of catching up!

Boy, life sure does get busy with a two year old running around!! My last post about our life was in august when we found out about baby #3! I guess we will talk about the pregnancy first! To say that this pregnancy has been easy would be a lie! I started getting extreme tiredness  shortly after we found out we were expecting. I mean it would get so bad that if I sat for more than 10 minutes I would be falling asleep....which isn't good when you have two 2 year olds and a baby in the house! Luckily, the boys would all sleep at the same time so I'd sneak in a nap with them! Then from about week 8 till week 14, I would have all afternoon/night nausea. I never threw up but came close a few times. So add the nausea on top of the tiredness and I just wasn't having it. This pregnancy has been so different than when I was pregnant with Jeremiah. I also was worried out of my mind until I got to the 2nd trimester. Getting pregnant after a loss takes on its own emotions and feel...

One Year Later

I've been meaning to post this, but kept putting it off. One year ago on November 3rd, our sweet Eden went back to heaven. In the past year we have laughed, we have cried and we have held on to the little memories we had while she was with us for that short time. Matt and I both got tattoos in her memory. Matt got one with a sleeping baby in the Lord's hands with cherry blossoms and her name on his inner forearm. I simply got her name with angel wings colored blue and pink since those are the colors for the pregnancy and infant loss awareness ribbon. There have been bad days and there have been good days. There are still times I cry over what would have been. To think that instead of being pregnant right now, we would have a 5 month old in the house. But it wasn't meant to be and we are so very excited to meet this new little person God blessed us with. The pain is still there, I think it always will be. It still stings whenever I think back on those few days when I...

Baby Peterson #3

So if you haven't figured it out yet, we are expecting again! And just like with Jeremiah and Eden, I announced it early. There is a reason for my doing this, especially after loosing Eden. First off, let me share with you the story! We had been trying since January to get pregnant again. It took awhile after the miscarriage to get my cycles back. They were right on target January through April and then they just disappeared. I took test after test and all of them came up negative. I was a bit heartbroken to say the least and was preparing myself for another long ttc journey like we had with Jeremiah. My cycles finally came back in July and a few weeks later I felt some pretty bad ovulation pains. We did the deed and waited. And waited some more. On August 1st, I had to take a test to make sure I wasn't pregnant, if I was I wouldn't have been able to get my tattoo. The test was negative so I was let down once again but happy at the same time. A few days later I knew my pe...

Where has the summer gone??

The last time I wrote was for our 8 year anniversary in June...crazy!!! Our summer has been so busy! It started out in June with our trip to Florida for Alex's graduation! We decided to leave 2 hours before Jeremiah's bedtime thinking he'd sleep the whole night through. Wrong! He had such a hard time staying asleep in his car seat, we pulled over at a gas station at 10pm to recline his seat back further. He slept alright and then woke up and started throwing up all over the place. He continued to throw up until we got to florida...I lost count at number 13...poor baby! We arrived in Florida the afternoon of June 4th and relaxed for a bit and then went to Tristan's middle school graduation! Tristan got all dressed up in a suit and just looked so handsome! It was like his life flashed before my eyes...what happened to the little 3.5 year old I met for the first time in 2004? Jeremiah started getting cranky before the ceremony even started. I had him in the stroller so I ...

8 years!

Image
It's so hard to believe that Matt and I have now been married for 8 years, been engaged for 9 years and been dating for 10 years! Wow!! We have had our ups, downs and all arounds! We started out living 475 miles apart. We met online as teenagers on a christian chat room, never knowing God was shaping our future right then and there! We kept in contact even when that chat room disappeared, when we both dated different people, and while I went through a horrible relationship that resulted in a broken engagement.  Shortly after breaking off the engagement, Matt and I started talking more and more. And well, on June 17th 2004, he asked me to be his girlfriend and drove to madison in july to meet me face to face for the first time. We spent the first 11 months of our relationship traveling back and forth...mostly me flying one weekend a month since my job was a little more flexible. In May of 2005, Matt got in with shopko in madison and was able to move here. May 16th, 2005 he aske...

Things I never want to forget....

- The day last week when it was dead silent in the house in the morning. I was just enjoying the quiet before the noise. Jeremiah was peacefully sleeping. He woke up and said "Hey!" "Mom!". It made me smile and laugh, and when I went in his room he was smiling at me -Jeremiah being the first person I see in the morning -His big blue eyes -watching him explore new things -Taking him to the splash pad on memorial day...he had so much fun! -how much he loves his grandma, and vise versa -His face when he sees daddy in the morning and when he comes home from work -Jeremiah and Matt's strong bond -His kisses and hugs -his toddler walk -his toddler run -his belly laughs - How he reads to himself saying "reereereeree" over and over -How he says hot in a whisper -His love for all things furry

It's Been Awhile!!

Image
Wow, I didn't realize it had been since Feburary when I last posted...my bad! So I started watching Ardayne and Greysen in March. It has been crazy busy, some days I think that a few hours have gone by just to find out only 20 minutes have passed!! It started out kinda rough, which I expected. Jeremiah had a really hard time sharing me with two other kids. He wasn't too keen on having a newborn around and there were days when I would wonder if he would have treated Eden the same way. Now that a couple months have gone by, he is much better. He will ask to hold Greysen, hug him, and give him kisses...and then smack him in the face, ugh!! Anyway, Jeremiah is one active little boy! My mom wonders how I keep up with him everyday, and sometimes I wonder that too. He is always on the go, chasing the dog, riding his little motorcycle bike, throwing balls and pestering the cats. He LOVES being outside! Once it's warm enough I'm sure he will be out there all day long if I let ...

The Good and the bad

Life isn't always peachy keen in the Peterson household! The past 10-12 days all three of us have been down with a nasty cold. Jeremiah started sneezing and getting crabby first and I just knew he was getting sick. I was right, but I had no idea what we were in for. The next day, Matt came down with it and was super, super sick. And then I got it. Matt was even sick for valentines day, which really wasn't that bad because we didn't have plans anyway.  This cold has left all of us with runny noses (seriously, how can so much snot come from 3 people!!), horrible coughs, and just feeling yuck! I had been coughing so much that I would get daily migraines and my ribs were so sore!  Jeremiah was so irritable though, it was really tough. If he wasn't sleeping, he was whining. Usually watching Chris Tomlin worship videos on the tv will calm him down but even that didn't help. He wasn't eating or drinking either. He was just one miserable toddler. He finally started...

Catch Up Time!

I haven't written in a long time and I apologize! Time just gets away from you! The biggest news in our house is that Jeremiah is now a full time walker! He will still crawl if he wants to get somewhere quick, but 99% of the time, he's on his feet! This video was taken shortly after he was getting somewhat steady on his feet!  You can even hear him saying "cat, cat" as Sassy was wanting attention too. He was also in a goofy mood, hence the silly face! I still watch him walk around and am just amazed! How quickly they change! Just a year ago, he was a baby that would just lay there and maybe flip on his tummy. I can't imagine what the next year will hold! I'm not sure where Jeremiah is weight and height wise since I know he's changed since his one year check up. He has his next checkup in a couple weeks! He also has a mouth full of teeth. I think he has them all in that he is supposed to have at this point. Last time I counted, there were 15 in ther...

Jeremiah's birthday party and other news!

So less than a week after loosing our sweet baby, we had Jeremiah's first birthday party! We cleaned and decorated our behinds off in preparation for it! I was actually pretty nervous because I didn't want people to act weird around us. But was also kind of sad that nobody even mentioned it or gave us hugs. But it was nice to have a nice, fun day with family. It was what we needed after a rough week! People came a little early which was ok because we got to just sit around and talk. Jeremiah took a short nap before hand so he wouldn't be cranky during the party. Once he woke up and warmed up, he was loving the spot light! He was making goofy faces, playing peek-a-boo and just being a ham! We enjoyed a lovely lunch of bbq pork made by Matt, fruit salad, chips and fruit punch. After we all got done eating and had been talking awhile, the kids got us all going on a game of "don't let the balloons touch the floor!" It was quite entertaining for awhile and prett...

Our dear sweet baby is home with Jesus

I left off on friday night. That day and night the cramping and bleeding came and it went. In the evening, the bleeding had turned to red and we were really, really scared. I called my mom and she came up to be with Jeremiah and Matt took me into the ER. We spent a couple hours there, had a pelvic exam and an ultrasound. Everything pointed to good signs and we were sent off to go home and rest. Saturday went by so slowly. I cried off and on as the cramps were picking up and the blood was now consistently pink and red. I knew it was not a good sign. We tried holding on to every bit of hope we could. Sunday morning we woke early, spent the morning lounging around and went off to church. That morning we sang a new song but before we did, they played a video of the writer talking about how she wrote the song. It just so happened that it was about praising God after she gave birth at 23 weeks and her baby passing away. The tears flowed and flowed and flowed some more. I knew God was alread...
