All about Elliana

So looking down the blog, it would seem as if we only have one child lol! We do have two and this post will be all about our 2nd born, little Miss Elliana!

Elliana is almost 2.5 years old. She has the most amazing smile, giggle, and bright blue eyes!
Her infancy was a complete breeze! I was able to pump for her for 9.5 months, and then we had to make the switch to formula. Keeping up with an energetic toddler and a baby on the move, just was not working while connected to a pump for 20 minutes every 3 hours and only getting a few ounces each time. I was pretty damn proud of myself for being able to feed her for so long!
She loved to be swaddled...so much so she was about 7 months before she was finally able to sleep without being swaddled! Unlike her brother, she didn't need to be sleep trained either! Right off the bat she was sleeping 4-6 hours at night. Then she would also put herself to sleep. We'd lay her in her crib, turn music on and she'd be out in a few minutes!
As a 1 year old, she was happy, content, and just a sweet little toddler. She loved being by the animals and getting into her brothers things, which he didn't appreciate. For her first birthday, we took her to Haven's Petting Farm. She wasn't too sure about things, but it was a chilly day and she was only a year old. She did have fun destroying her smash cake at grandma's and then painting the kitchen floor with frosting!
Now as a 2 year old...boy is she sassy! Her language came in almost over night and she was saying new words and phrases every day. She can talk in full sentences and hold a conversation. She loves singing, howling like a wolf, and playing with her brother. Everybody comments on how petite she is, which is very true. They are always saying how quiet she is as well. Oh, if they only saw her at home haha!!
Just the other day, we were outside playing. I was sitting underneath their playset, and Elliana had a bucket and a small sandcastle with sand in it. I told her that the sand needed to stay in the sandbox. She looked me dead in the eyes, and dumped the sand out that was in the sandcastle bucket, and said " ha ha!" I couldn't even scold her because I was laughing so hard!

During Elliana's life, we've traveled a few times as well. We went to Florida when she was 14 months old, and she started taking her first steps while there! It was really special for her cousins to get to help her learn to walk. And just last month, we went out to Nebraska to visit Grandpa and Grandma Chris and to see the solar eclipse. One thing that I brag about my kids for..they are amazing travelers. It takes us 20 hours to get to florida and 16 hours to get to nebraska. They stay entertained with toys, movies, and snacks. They only have a hard time when we head home, but even then only throw one or two tantrums. When they start getting whiny, we pull over and take a break. We are never in a rush, so I think that helps them as well!

And that pretty much leads us up to now. We spend our mornings just the two of us while Jeremiah is at school. She plays pretty contently by herself, but I will also stop and play with her too.
She really is our sweet little one and we just love having her be in our family!
