Catching Up on...Elliana

Elliana is now 5 years old!
This past school year she attended 4k at Community Care! Her teachers were Ms.Liz, Ms.Jeannine and Ms.Renae. Ellie did well in school but she was so very shy. It took her a good 4 months or so before she'd even talk to Ms.Liz. She had a few moments in class where she got emotional but they worked through them. The hardest part for her was going back to school after christmas break. She cried every day at drop off or during the school day for close to two weeks. It broke my heart leaving her when she was crying, and I would walk away while crying too. We all worked through it though and got back to normal drop offs where she'd give me a hug and go do her thing!

We got to go on her first field trip together, to The Little Farmer. She was nervous on the bus and clung to my arm most of the ride. She had fun during the field trip and it was good to see her play with a couple new friends. We did this field trip right in October. It was the same thing as when Jeremiah went. We did some class learning, about apples and how the bees help the apples grow, then we took a hay ride out to the pumpkin patch and got to pick a pumpkin. Then we all ate lunch and got to play for awhile before heading back to school.

And of course her 4k year got interrupted by Corona. I was so extremely bummed. They were supposed to do a concert, two more field trips and have their graduation. All of that got cancelled. They got jipped!

Other than school, Ellie is pretty quiet and shy around people she doesn't know. But believe me when I say she has a voice and she knows how to use it! She can throw some epic fits when she doesn't get her way! She throws out some sarcastic zingers every so often that leave Matt and I in stitches!! It's too funny to have such a sarcastic child!

She loves clothes, everything unicorn, and loves to read! She is so amazing with Haley and has been since the day she was born! I hope their bond continues to grow and they have an amazing sisterhood!

Elliana's 5th birthday was one for the books. She had been planning her birthday for 6 months at least. She had her friends list picked out, her decorations, what food to serve, her cake, everything she had down. And then Corona. We had to cancel all of it! I cried so many times for her. She took it all in stride though and we ended up having an amazing day! We had asked the fire department if they'd do a drive by for her birthday. They, along with the police department, went above and beyond for her. Around noon we all went outside. And then 7 police cars, marked and unmarked, 2 firetrucks and an ambulance came driving down our street with lights and sirens. Then they all stopped, got out of the vehicles, gathered together and sang Happy Birthday to her!! She was shy and quiet of course and the loud sirens were too loud for her but it was so amazing. Our neighbors came out and many of them had tears in their eyes! A neighbor a few houses down gave Ellie a couple gifts even! She was so blessed! Then we spent the rest of the day just being together as a family. We of course had birthday donuts for breakfast, she got whatever she wanted for lunch and then we got Pizza Hut delievered for dinner. She wanted to go to Pizza Hut but we couldn't yet because everything was closed to dine in customers. Then we had cake and ice cream! She got her unicorn cake, it wasn't the original one planned but still turned out beautiful, and she wanted Blue Moon ice cream, so that's what she got! It turned out to be a wonderful birthday!!

This coming year she will start kindergarten and hopefully have Mr,Kok. It will be so strange to have two kids in elementary school full time and only have Haley home with me!
