Catching up on...Jeremiah

So I realize I've totally neglected this blog! It's crazy! Jeremiah is now 7.5, Elliana turned 5 in April and the biggest news was that we added to our family! Haley is almost 1.5 already!! So I will do a blog entry on each of the kids and catching up on Matt and I!

Mr.Jeremiah! Last time I wrote, he was just getting ready to start 4k at Community Care! That school year was something else! He had three wonderful teachers, Ms.Amber, Ms.Jeannine and Ms.Renae. And boy, did he give them all a run for their money! We had a parent teacher conference in October, where Ms.Renae joined Ms.Amber. She told us that she has only had one other student more stubborn than Jeremiah, and Jeremiah was close to trumping that student! So if that doesn't tell you about Jeremiah, I don't know what does. However, we all worked as a team, we gave them permission to show him some tough love and using time at Grandma's house as a reward, we got him on the straight path! It was in 4k that Jeremiah met his second best friend, Craig Henke. Those two were attached at the hip. Craig came over to our house several times to play as well, which was good for Jeremiah. That year, we went on our first 3 field trips together! In the fall we went to The Little Farmer outside of Fond du Lac, then in the spring we went to The Building for Kids in Appleton and the last one was to Condon Family Farm and Horicon Ledge Park. All three were exhausting, yet so much fun!

Jeremiah's kindergarten year flew by even faster than his 4k year did. He had the perfect teacher for him, Mr.David Kok! Seriously, Mr.Kok set the bar so high for all future teachers! Jeremiah loved him and took to him right away. He felt safe and secure with him. Jeremiah came out of his shell that year in school! I was so worried about everything that comes with being at school all day long and I really didn't need to. Everybody was wonderful!
We did have an incident that I wasn't happy about. One morning, we all walked to take Jeremiah to school. The bell rang. Jeremiah, Craig and Liam didn't hear the bell. And everybody went inside. But yet the three boys were left out there, nobody did a playground check. I was not a happy momma! So I emailed the principal and we talked about it on the phone. After that day, they implemented mandatory playground checks before the playground attendants went inside.
In kindergarten, we went on two field trips. One in the fall to a greenhouse/pumpkin patch and then in the spring we went to Madison for the childrens museum and capital. Again, they were fun and exhausting!

This past school year was interesting. Jeremiah had Mrs.Stacey Hardesty for his first grade year. I had not heard anything about her so I wasn't sure what to expect. Once again, Jeremiah had Liam and Craig in his class with him. I wasn't too fond of his teacher at first, mostly because it was a big change from Mr.Kok. But we grew to like her and knew she was doing her best for Jeremiah! This year was kind of a struggle. He blew his reading out of the water, reading past grade level. He is struggling with math though, which hopefully we can overcome it. The kids only got to go to school till March, and then had to do school at home because of Covid-19. Homeschooling was not easy, but we got through it. We didn't get to do any field trips this year because first graders did theirs in the spring, and we weren't in school for it.

Personality wise, Jeremiah has majorly come out of his shell. He talks to everybody that we tell him is okay to talk to! We just got back from visiting Nebraska and Colorado. Jeremiah snuggled up with Aunt Angela more than he did with me! He talked their ears off! It was a completely different Jeremiah than what they were used to! He is sweet, and oh so silly! We call him the original Catboy because of how much he loves cats and cats love him!

I wouldn't change anything about this boy!
